Twesigye Joshua

is a 7Joshua-year-old boy who hopes to go to school

Joshua is from Kyedikyo village in Kassanda sub-county. He lives with his mother in very poor economic conditions. His mother migrated to Uganda from Rwanda and his father disappeared into the forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo (D.R.) to join the militia to fight against the Rwandan regime at the time. They never heard from him again. So, Joshua’s mom got remarried to another man who was a drunkard and a drug addict. One night, they got into a fight and he violently cut his wife’s feet off with a machete. KCA took care of her medical bills and followed up to have the man arrested and put into prison. Obviously as a result, Joshua’s mom cannot work and although Joshua and his siblings have reached an age to attend school, there are no resources to make that happen.
