Namatovu Patience Catherine – Sponsored

is an 11-year-old girl who hopes to become a doctor.

Patience lost her father to HIV/AIDS. She stays with her mother who is very weak because she is also HIV positive. Her mother works as a market vendor, but sometimes can’t go to work because of her health struggles associated with being HIV positive. The family depends exclusively on the mother’s stall in the market so things have become difficult for the family to meet their basic needs. Patience performs well in class despite her irregular school attendance. When she grows up she wants to become a doctor but this can only be achieved with sponsorship that would allow for regular school attendance.
