Nakayemba Nadia

is a 6-year-old girl in Nursery School who hopes to become a teacher.

Nadia stays with her grandmother because both her father and mother abandoned her. She is under the care of her grandmother, and lives with four other sisters and five brothers at Jemba Village. All of the children at the home have been left there by their parents for the grandmother to care for. They have a semi-permanent house and a small piece of land on which they grow some food crops, but the burden of a big family with no steady job makes it difficult to provide for all of their needs. She tries to earn an income by weaving mats and baskets to sell but the materials are difficult to get. Nadia needs someone who can help her achieve her goal of becoming a teacher.
