Jovia is a paternal orphan who stays with her mother in a rented room at Kassanda. Her father died in a motor accident and left his family without land or a house. The mother has no income-generating activity except that she works in other people’s gardens as a casual laborer but it is only seasonal. During the dry season there is no work, which means a time of suffering for the family. Jovia would have reached the upper class by now, but because of lack of scholastic materials, she spent many years without attending school. Jovia dreams of becoming a Nurse, but without help her dream will not become a reality.
